Jan 26, 2001 - Welcome
So much to do, and so little time to do it in. The good news is I've been doing lots of overtime at work. This means I'm earning real money to be able to put towards kitchen and bathroom renovations. The bad news is I've had little time to work on this web site, my 2000 Retic & Juno Bloom report, my Iris photo & article CD (I now have a burner), etc., etc. Hopefully I can get to some of those soon, but while there is real money to be earned, I'll take as much overtime as I can get.
Sept 5, 2000
At long last I've started to get this web site set up. I still have a lot of high priority things to do, such as sending off orders, planting seeds, and replanting bulbs, so it's still going to be a while before this site is set up the way I'd like it to be; but eventually I'll get there. Incidentally, its over 12,000 seeds that I have to plant by hand (around 2,000 are Junos), and 100,000 bulbs to replant (mainly Reticulatas), which is why these things take a while.
I took a lot of digital pictures when the Junos were in bloom, however because of writing software in the evenings to drive web pages like this one from a database, I didn't get around to labelling the pictures. That's something I still have to do, along with selecting all of the pictures to put up on this web site. I did make some notes when I took the pictures, but I'm sure there will be a number I'll have trouble identifying. I hadn't realized how much time it would take to write the software. I went through at least three major iterations, making it more and more sophisticated. The goal was to make it as data driven as possible so that I could easily make changes, as well as so I could simulate the site directly off of my hard drive.
I won't have any problem filling the 20 Megs I get free from FreeServers.com (which is why you see the ads at the top of the screen). I expect to eventually have a Juno CD available with a more functionality, and a lot more pictures.
